Oyster's Mask

Intention: A mask, previous to being part of a magically-powered mechanical automaton made of copper plate, weathered and steel, rusted.

This is in fact what I accomplished. The mask is actually fabricated from cardboard and poly-clay. Over that i painted it and used copper powder to coat it, polishing the copper powder resulted in a nice shiny surface with many beautiful and organic looking occlusions. On this I applied a chemical patina agent.

The "cheeks" are the same, though I used steel powder and again chemically weathered it. The result, I believe, is gorgeous.
